life updated #19393404

So what’s new?
Work.
Work. Work.
Work. Work. Work.

With about 3 weeks left until our game launches, I’m putting in crazy hours trying to get some of the new website features ready for launch. The atmosphere around the office is frantic but a good kind. We just had the “preview weekend” and that seemed to go well, which is good for the server guys who’ve been workin their ass off. I got to play a bit too so it was quite a bit of fun to play in the massive groups found in the RVR zones.

Also my brother has started to live with me as he got a job there too. Helped get is foot in the door so to speak and hope he runs with the opportunity.

Other then that? Not much really. Helped some friends move the last few weekends, worked the rest of them. Going out with the team to a local irish pub on friday, which I’m sure we’ll all need. The Maryland Ren-Fest starts up soon but probably won’t be able to go to that till post launch and in late september is the 2nd Virigina Brewfest of the season, definitely gotta make time for that, hehe.

Lastly, I decided to put Phirebrush on hold for 2 months cause of the crazyness and lack of time at work. Hopefully when work is settled, I can go and redesign PB like I want and get Tim to do some new backend coding. We shall see I suppose.

Anyways, just thought I’d drop in (my own blog) and give a lil update. Crap, gotta finish my September calendar too, August is almost over!

New PC!

My first blog post from my new PC. Man this thing is a BEAST!

Yep, more storms rolled in. Check my Flickr for some cool shots (lightning and panoramics). Here is a taste:

Interested in what we’re doing with the Realm War section of the Warhammer site? Well, recently TenTonHammer had an interview with out team lead about it.

The Dark Knight

I couldn’t wait for tomorrows (free) showing with work and went tonight to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight. Wow! It lived and exceeded my expectations. Ledger’s performance was A-MAZ-ING! Also, two-face… WOW! That is all I can say. Great Great movie :)

update: saw it again with a studio showing at work, even better this time around (no teenagers talking, digital projection). Still stunned by Ledger’s performance. You really don’t realize it’s him, you think it is just… the joker.. which is nothing but a praise for his performance.

absent?

So, where have I been all week? Well, work of course, but afterwards. Home. Painting my Warhammer figures, watching dvds, doing nothing. Why? My cable was out for 5 days. And when I say cable I mean BOTH internet AND tv. Yes. Welcome to a world of suck! hahaha. Turns out someone capped my line and rerouted it, the tech thought maybe someone was tryin to steal my cable. WTF?! Do I have to setup webcams out side now? haha.

Anyways, been putting in alot of hours at work, was actually there till almost midnight last night. Why you may ask? We launched the mysterious “Coming Soon” section of the Warhammer Online website. It’s called The Realm War. Since it’s under NDA atm, I can say it’ll be a nice place to check stats and such when not in game. Currently the beta testers can log in and we’re getting alot of great feedback which is great! But sooooo much yet to be done.

Games/Movie wise? Let me see if I can recap, theater movies first. Hellboy II - Awesome. Wall-E - AMAAAZING!!! Hancock - Fun. Wanted - Way better then I expected. Dvd wise: Juno - cute and funny. Batman: Gotham Knight (anime) - awesome!!! Strange Wilderness - SUCKED ASS! Onto games: Been hooooooked to Battlefield: Bad Company, great game, good multiplayer fun. Picked up Civilation Revolutions this week, good chill game. Nicely done civs game for the consoles.

Well, time to get caught up on a clients site so I can get paid and order the rest of my new pc parts. Have a busy week at work (nothing new, haha) and then…… friday…. IT HAPPENS!!!…. BATMAN!!!!! (can’t. wait.)
